Federal Religious Affairs Minister Hamid Saeed Kazmi, MNA Sahibzada Fazal Karim, Mufti Munib ur Rehman, a large number of political workers and people participated in the Qul held amid tight security.
Later, a convention was also held at the seminary and participants condemned the tragic killing of Allama Naeemi and paid tribute to the Shaheed for his remarkable services for country and religion.
The religious affairs minister said the government would defeat terrorists and the miscreants wouldn’t succeed in their nefarious designs. He said the tragic killing of Allama Naeemi was a highly condemnable incident. He said terrorists had the agenda to spread hatred in the country and government would wipe them out.
Meanwhile, senior Political Assistant to Chief Minister and former MNA Pervez Malik said Dr. Sarfraz Naeemi was a national asset and every person was mourning his tragic death.
He said those involved in suicidal bomb blasts were cowards and enemies of the humanity and were not Muslims in any way, as they were attacking mosques and religious seminaries. He said the involvement of foreign hands could not be ruled out in these attacks and mastermind of series of suicidal attacks would soon be exposed. He said Dr. Sarfraz Naeemi was upholder of peace and he rendered remarkable services for the glory of Islam, promotion of equality and national reconciliation. He said Mufti Naeemi was martyred to spread riots and sectarianism in the country, therefore, the people should not be impatient and try to foil ulterior motives of the anti-Islam forces.
Pervez Malik said Dr. Sarfraz Naeemi always preached unity and harmony among the people and challenged the infidel forces for the sake of right and noble deeds. He said the terrorists had no religion and thought and they were enemies of the whole nation while Dr. Naeemi accepted martyrdom for achieving this purpose and he did not withdraw from principle against extremism. He had visited the four provinces to unite the people against terrorism, saying the people of Pakistan could not be harassed through militancy. He always stressed the need for unity among Muslims which was praiseworthy.
