Narendra Modi and Muslims

21 Apr

Narendra Modi’s chance of becoming P.M of the country are becoming brighter day by day,as BJP has been highly successful in polarizing the votes in larger states of the country. The media reports after the polling suggest that elections in western U.P and in many seats of Bihar has been fought totally on communal lines.

All the past equations have fallen in the name of religion.Congress and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) in West UP have suffered huge loss ,their votes has taken a shift either to Samajwadi party or to Bhartiya Janta Party BJP. There are reports that Dalit vote has also been shifted in favor of BJP while Jat vote of Rashtriya Lok Dal has been divided among RLD and BJP in many west UP seats.

The Modi factor and communal atmosphere created after Muzaffarnagar riots has helped BJP to come as main contender of Hindu votes of all castes. While angry Muslim voters have voted in some seats tactically to defeat BJP candidates while on seats like Bareilly and Moradabad it got divided among various secular parties which will ultimately help BJP to gain.

In parts of Bihar where voting has been completed ,reports suggest that though Muslims and Yadavs are rallying behind Congress and Rahstriya Janta Dal RJD but a god number is also supporting Nitish Kumar’s Janta Dal U. BJP is getting direct benefit of the division of votes of Muslim Minority but it is evident that BJP is not getting their votes and they are voting to defeat BJP.

Here many question may come to young mind what is reason for that ? Why Muslims hate Narendra Modi ? This question arise to mind of many people that what is the problem with Muslim community ? Why don’t they support a C.M who is boasting on so much development of Gujrat and wish to present a bright picture of the country’s growth?

The answer is not lengthy and unclear.Growth and development comes later and security comes first. In an Insecure and unsafe place growth comes secondary only. When politics becomes priority then citizens are forced to become victims.Where culprits roams free then living in fear becomes normal habit.

The Narendra Modi was head of the government under which worst ever riots were planned and executed by various right wing organisations.Thousand lost their life ,millions were affected ,lakhs of people became refugees in their own home land.In each city and in rural areas shops and houses of minority community were destroyed, looted ,burnt.Mass killing ,Gang Rapes,Murders and tortures were reported from whole of the Gujrat. Govt did not provide enough security and confidence to victims.Their shelter camps were forcibly closed ,F.I.R were not lodged in all matters.Culprits were high officials , ministers of the government and Politicians from the ruling party and its sister organisations.

Open discrimination:Ahmedabad,Gujrat shopping mall charged entry fee from Muslims

Indian Muslims are facing deep discrimination in Modi’s Gujrat where even shopping mall are treating Muslims indiscriminately. On the occasion of Eid-ul Fitr 2013,Shopping Mall charged special entry fee from Muslim youths who came to mall for shopping.

A trip in the celebratory spirit ofEid turned out to be an experience in discrimination for many Muslims in Narendra Modi’s Gujarat. The Himalaya Mall, among the five biggest malls in Ahmedabad, on Friday announced a fee of Rs 20 from visitors from the minority community, to be returned to them only if they bought anything from the mall, and retained if they didn’t.
Many felt it was discrimination against a specific group on Eid when footfalls at the mall peaked.

“The security personnel were being selective. We saw people walking past without paying any fee. When we asked the security guards, they said that they have orders to follow and asked us to pay up. We’re shocked,” said Saiyad Shaikh, a resident of Delhi Chakla, who had come to the mall with his family.

Iliyas Ansari, who stays in Shahpur, said, “We’re willing to pay entry fee provided the mall charges it from everybody. Why discriminate against just one community?”

Deepa Bhatnagar, manager (operations) of Himalaya Mall, told TOI that it was a routine move to check visitors on a busy day. “We had employed the same mechanism in the past to keep troublemakers out. We are planning to charge entry fee during the coming festive season including Diwali. The fee is being returned if any purchase is made, so the entry is practically free,” she said.

Mall officials said that against a routine daily footfall of around 10,000, Friday saw a surge in the numbers to around 30,000. About the selective demand of entry fee, she said the administration had decided to exclude women and senior citizens only. “There was no attempt to exclude anybody or charge specific persons. And, Rs 20 is hardly a deterrent,” she said.

However, this correspondent observed a distinct pattern in which entry was allowed. Youth from specific age groups of the minority community were being scrutinized and asked to pay the fee while whereas women and many others were allowed to walk in without being charged.

Mall officials said last year during Eid they saw two group clashes inside the mall and a glass wall was broken. On Friday, the number of security personnel was increased and a team of policemen was deployed inside as well as outside the mall as authorities did not want any “trouble”.

Any discrimination on the basis of religion is unconstitutional and should not be tolerated. Such communal profiling shows that a deep divide persists in Gujarat, notwithstanding chief minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Sadbhavana’ mission.
