Bhopal, Jan. 3: The stabbing of an imam yesterday sparked unprecedented violence between the Barelvi and Deobandi sects in a Madhya Pradesh town linked to one of history’s highest-profile love stories. Some 150 people have been booked in Burhanpur — where Empress Mumtaz Mahal of Taj Mahal fame died four centuries ago — after attacks on homes and shops injured three dozen people and shocked Muslim community leaders. The Barelvi imam of Lalbagh mosque, Mohammad Amin, 38, was attacked on a busy street by three young men who punched him, tried to crush him with a stone and stabbed him. He is battling for life in hospital. Police said attackers Babbar, Saleem and Irshad, who are in custody, were from the Deobandi group Tabliqui Jamaat, a radical movement for the reawakening of faith. More than half the three lakh residents of Burhanpur, located near the Maharashtra border 350km south of Bhopal, are Muslims. Emperor Shah Jahan’s wife Mumtaz Mahal had spent her last years in the town, and her remains had stayed there for 23 years before being shifted to the Taj Mahal after the monument’s completion. The ideological divide between the Barelvis and Deobandis on the subcontinent dates back to over 130 years, but has never before triggered such large-scale violence. Like other Muslims, Barelvis — who make up about two-thirds of the country’s Muslim population — base their beliefs on the Quran and Sunnah and accept monotheism and the prophet-hood of Muhammad. But they have been at odds with those who believe in a stricter interpretation of Islam, particularly the Deobandi sect and Wahhabism, a conservative school that originated in Saudi Arabia. In Burhanpur, the Barelvis and Deobandis have had differences over the control of 150-odd mosques. Mohammad Irfan, a local BSNL employee, said: “The imam had been making provocative speeches during Friday sermons. He has been saying nasty things about the Tabliqui people, asking Muslims not to listen to them.” Irfan said the three attackers had dubbed the imam “Maulana Laddoo” — a reference to the Barelvi practice of distributing dried fruits as tabarruk after religious gatherings.

Sunni Conference :Neither the Leadership nor the Imamat of Wahabi is accepted

Moradabad: The All India Ulema and Mashaikh Board on Sunday alleged that Sunnis were being ignored by the state and Central governments.

Addressing a Sunni conference at Company Bagh here, the Board President Syed Mahmood Ashraf said that they were being ignored by the Centre and state government at every level of development.

All the benefits meant for them (Sunnis) were being “hijacked” by the Wahhabis, Ashraf claimed.

He rejected the proposal that a meeting between Sunnis and Wahhabis be organised to overcome the rift.

The Sunni leaders at the conference demanded the removal of Wahhabi Muslims from Wakf board and from all government organisations dealing with Muslim affairs.

LUCKNOW: The age-old animosity between the Deobandi and Sunni schools of thought among Sunni Muslims resurfaced in Uttar Pradesh with moderate Sunni serving an ultimatum to hardline Deobandis to give up control over Muslim religious places during a Sunni conference.

The fight is over control of more than one lakh madrassas, dargahs, graveyards and other historical monuments. Under the control of Sunni Waqf board, these properties — excluding, of course, the historical monuments — in UP alone are worth at least Rs 10,000 crore. The figure would be substantially higher if properties in Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Punjab, West Bengal, Bihar, MP and Chhattisgarh were to be included.

A demand to free all the ‘idaaras’ (religious places) from ‘wahabis’ — read Deobandis — was raised at the conference hosted by All-India Ulema Mashaikh Board (AIUMB) in Moradabad last Sunday. General secretary of the board, Maulana Syed Mohammad Ashraf Kichowchhwi, accused the “13% minuscule, manipulative minority with hijacking all minorities bodies in UP and the national level”.

Talking to TOI, Maulana Kichowchhwi said this was a fight between moderates and hardliners. “Since the latter do not have faith in patron saints of ‘dargah’ or ‘mazar’ and have condemned the practice, logically they must not be considered for management of Ajmer Sharif or Deva Sharif. The government must ensure that the chairperson and members of the Sunni Waqf Board come from among 80% of the population of moderate Muslims who follow the Sufi tradition,” he said.

This apart, the board also demanded representation in Central Haj Committee, Urdu Academy and other minority related institutes, said Babar Ashraf, secretary of AIUMB, who accused Dar-ul-Uloom Deoband, Nadava Jamate, Islam Jamait-ul-Ulema, et al, of trying to dominate Sunni “on the strength of petro-dollars”. “Members of Waqf board in the past have systematically captured our mosques and madrassas,” he said, and added, “The board would launch a public agitation to liberate our properties.”

The gathering of ulema, imams and intellectuals also demanded “a rightful share and representation as per their population percentage in all government and semi-government bodies” and appealed to the government to ensure the enforcement, failing which the board would take the fight to the public. http://m.timesofindia.com/PDATOI/articleshow/5414512.cms

कार्यालय संवाददाता, मुरादाबाद : सुन्नी कांफ्रेंस में वहाबियत के खिलाफ आवाज बुलंद करने का संकल्प लिया गया। रविवार को ठंडे मौसम और रिमझिम बूंदाबांदी के बीच कंपनी बाग में इकट्ठे हुए भारी हुजूम के बीच कांफ्रेंस में वहाबियों पर अवैध तरीके से मस्जिद, वक्फ संपत्तियों और खानकाहों को कब्जाने का आरोप लगाया गया। साथ ही कहा गया कि इन्हें मुक्त कराने के लिए केंद्र और प्रदेश सरकार से भी मुतालबा करेंगे। इसके साथ ही खूनखराबा कर अवाम में दहशतगर्दी फैलाने वालों की जमकर आलोचना की गई। कहा गया कि ऐसे आतंकियों का इस्लाम से कोई वास्ता नहीं है और हर सच्चा मुसलमान आतंक के खात्मे के लिए सहयोग करे। आल इंडिया उलेमा व माशाइख बोर्ड के बैनर तले कंपनी बाग में सुबह दस बजे आयोजित कांफ्रेंस में कई प्रदेशों से आए सुन्नी मुसलमानों का सैलाब ही उमड़ पड़ा। नारा-ए-तकबीर, अल्लाहो अकबर के नारों से लबरेज इस रूहानी कांफ्रेंस में उलेमा, खानकाहों के सज्जादानशीन, इमाम और हजरत मोहम्मद (स) से मोहब्बत रखने वालों के जमावड़े से कंपनी बाग का विशाल ठ्ठ मैदान भी तंग हो गया। उलेमाओं ने कहा कि सच्चा मुसलमान वही है, जो हजरत मोहम्मद (स) ख्वाजा गरीब नवाज मुईनुद्दीन चिश्ती को मानने वाला हो। कांफ्रेंस को खिताब करते हुए माशाइख बोर्ड के राष्ट्रीय अध्यक्ष मौलाना सैयद महमूद अशरफ किछौछवी ने कहा कि सुन्नी मुसलमानों की बड़ी तादाद अपने अधिकार हासिल करने से वंचित है। तेरह फीसदी वहाबियों ने 80 प्रतिशत सुन्नी मुसलमानों की कयादत अपने हाथ में ले ली है। उन्होंने आजादी की लड़ाई में शहीद होने वाले मौलाना फजलेहक खैराबादी, किफायत हुसैन काफी, मुफ्ती इनायत हुसैन काकोरी और मौलाना लुतफुल्ला अली का जिक्र करते हुए उन्हें सच्चा सुन्नी मुसलमान बताया। कहा कि देश की आजादी के बाद सुन्नी मुसलमान सियासत को गैर जरूरी समझकर अपनी खानकाहों में चले गए और वहाबी सियासत में इक्तेदार (सत्ताधारी) हो गए। कांफ्रेंस में मौलाना मोहम्मद हाशिम कानपुरी ने कहा कि सुन्नी मुसलमानों को अब वहाबियों की न कयादत पंसद है और ना इमामत। अब सुन्नी मुसलमान हज कमेटी, मुस्लिम पर्सनल ला बोर्ड, सुन्नी वक्फ बोर्ड, उर्दू अकादमी का चेयरमैन जैसे पदों के लिए आबादी के हिसाब से अपना हक हासिल करेंगे। बरेली से आए मौलाना तौकीर रजा खां ने कहा कि आतंकवाद के नाम पर मुसलमानों को रुस्वा किया जा रहा है। उन्होंने फास्ट ट्रैक अदालतों में मुकदमा चलाकर बेगुनाह मुसलमानों को रिहा करने और दोषी लोगों के खिलाफ कार्रवाई करने की मांग की। कांफ्रेंस में जफर मसूद किछौछवी ने कांफ्रेंस के उद्देश्य पर रोशनी डाली। सैयद शाहिद मियां अजमेर ने मोहम्मद साहब को न मानने वालों पर कटाक्ष किया। मुफ्ती मुईन उद्दीन ने सुन्नियत की तरक्की की राह दिखाई। राष्ट्रीय महासचिव सैयद मोहम्मद अशरफ किछौछवी ने 16 सूत्रीय प्रस्ताव पेश किया, जिसका पूरे हुजूम ने हाथ उठाकर समर्थन किया। मोहम्मद (स) पर सलाम पेश करने के बाद सैयद महमूद अशरफ किछछौवी ने मुल्क में अमनो-अमान और कौम की खुशहाली की दुआ कराई। अंत में तय हुआ कि अगली कांफ्रेंस कानपुर में होगी। कांफ्रेंस की शुरूआत कारी मोहम्मद गुलजार नईमी ने कुरान की तिलावत से की, जिसका उर्दू तर्जुमा मुफ्ती मोहम्मद अय्यूब खां नईमी और हिंदी तर्जुमा मोहम्मद अहमद नईमी ने किया। तराना नूर कादरी अशरफी ने पेश किया। इस मौके पर कारी अबुल फतह राजस्थान, शाहिद मियां, सकलैन मियां- बरेली, मौलाना मोहम्मद याकूब-दिल्ली, मुफ्ती हामिद खां- बिहार, असलम मियां-पीलीभीत, फरहत जमाली- रामपुर, सलामत मियां- खबडि़या शरीफ, शिम्मी मियां- कलियर, अब्दुर्रहमान खां चिश्ती- मैनपुरी, डा. शुएब- इटावा, मौलाना निजामुद्दीन मुम्बई, सैयद असलम मियां, नैयर मियां- रुदौली, सैयद राशिद फरीदी- रजबपुर, मौलाना यामीन नईमी, कारी इख्तेसासुददीन, सैयद हामिद मियां, काजी मरगूब अली, मौलाना फुजले अहमद- लखनऊ, सैयद बाबर अशरफ समेत तीन सौ से अधिक उलेमा व खानकाहों के सज्जादानशीन मौजूद थे। संचालन मौलाना रईस अशरफ, मोहम्मद हाशिम नईमी और मौलाना कलीम अशरफ ने किया

कंपनी बाग में हुई सुन्नी कांफ्रेंस में कमोबेश हर तकरीर करने वाले ने यह जताने की कोशिश की कि मुल्क में मुसलमानों की आबादी में से अस्सी फीसदी सुन्नी मुसलमान हैं, लेकिन उन्हें हक नहीं मिल रहे हैं। साफ तौर पर यह भी जता दिया गया कि सुन्नी अब खामोश रहने वाले नहीं हैं। कांफ्रेंस में साफ किया गया कि लोग समझते हैं कि मुसलमानों में दो फिरके शिया और सुन्नी हैं, लेकिन फिरके तीन हैं – शिया, सुन्नी और वहाबी। तकरीर में ये भी साफ हो गया कि शिया मसलक के लोग तादाद में कम होने के बावजूद शिया वक्फ बोर्ड की हिफाजत करने में कामयाब रहे, लेकिन सुन्नी तादाद में ज्यादा होने के बावजूद वक्फ बोर्ड पर अपना कब्जा बनाए रखने में कामयाब नहीं हो सके। यहां तक कि सुन्नी वक्फ बोर्ड में चेयरमैन से लेकर चपरासी तक एक भी सुन्नी मुसलमान नहीं है। वक्फ बोर्ड के मौजूदा नेतृत्व पर खानकाहों और मस्जिदों को महफूज रखने में नाकाम रहने का आरोप भी लगाया गया। कामयाबी के मुकाम तक पहंुची कांफ्रेंस के जरिए यह भी जताने की कोशिश की गई कि केंद्र व प्रदेश सरकार और सियासी पार्टियों के आला नेता भी साफ समझ लें कि अब बहुत दिनों तक सुन्नी फिरके के लोगों को उनके हकों से महरुम नहीं रखा जा सकता। इसका अंदाज इसी से लगाया जा सकता है कि नारे लगाने वालों को रोकते हुए तकरीर करने वालों ने कहा कि वक्त नारे लगाने का नहीं, बल्कि कांफ्रेंस में पारित प्रस्तावों पर अमल का है

मुरादाबाद, कासं : सुन्नी कांफ्रेंस में वहाबियों की कयादत और इमामत से इनकार करने के साथ ही केंद्र सरकार से भी दो-दो हाथ करने का ऐलान किया गया। उलेमाओं ने 16 सूत्री ज्ञापन पर गौर करने के लिए इद्दत (चार महीने 13 दिन) की मुद्दत तक का ऐलान किया। कांफ्रेंस की कामयाबी से खुश उलेमाओं ने कहा इसमें पारित प्रस्तावों को राष्ट्रपति, प्रधानमंत्री और सभी प्रांतों में मुख्यमंत्रियों को भेजा जाएगा। तय हुआ कि अगर इस मुद्दत तक केंद्र सरकार ने उनके प्रस्तावों पर गौर नहीं किया तो दिल्ली में सरकार का घेराव किया जाएगा।

कार्यालय संवाददाता, मुरादाबाद : आल इंडिया उलेमा व मशाइख बोर्ड के बैनर तले आयोजित कांफ्रेंस में शिरकत करने आए खानकाहों के सज्जादगान और उलेमाओं ने सुन्नियत को इस्लाम की पहली कड़ी बताया। कहा कि जो हजरत मोहम्मद (स) और उनकी आल (औलाद इमाम हुसैन आदि) एवं सूफिज्म को न माने, वो मुसलमान नहीं, बस मुसलमान जैसा है। उलेमाओं ने केंद्रीय मदरसा बोर्ड के गठन को मुसलमानों की जरूरत बताया। सैयद शाहिद मियां-सज्जादा दरगाह ख्वाजा मुईनुदद्ीन चिश्ती कहते हैं कि कुरान में जगह-जगह अल्लाह के नेक बंदों की तरफ इशारा किया गया है, कि उन्हें मुर्दा मत जानो, लेकिन वहाबी उनकी शान में गलत अलफाजों का इस्तेमाल कर इस्लाम के खिलाफ प्रोपेगंडा कर रहे हैं। जबकि सूफिज्म के जरिए ही हिंदुस्तान में इस्लाम फैला। उन्होंने वहाबियों की साजिश को बेनकाब करने की हिमायत की। मौलाना मोहम्मद हाशिम कानपुरी कहते हैं कि सुन्नी मुसलमान अपने हक से महरूम हैं। देश की आजादी से अब तक सुन्नियों को महरूम रखा गया। अब हक की लड़ाई शुरू की गई है। उन्होंने वहाबियत को गैर मुस्लिम तो करार नहीं दिया, लेकिन मुसलमानों जैसा बताया। कहा कि वहाबी अल्लाह के रसूल की नाफरमानी कर रहे हैं। मुफ्ती मुईनुदीन फैजाबादी कहते हैं कि सुन्नी मसलक के लोग हजरत मोहम्मद (स) के लोग आखिरी नबी मोहम्मद साहब की तौहीन बर्दाश्त नहीं कर सकते। उनका अकीदा है, उन्हें जीने में वो मजा नहीं आता जो मोहम्मद (स) के नाम पर मरने में आता है। अब सुन्नियों में जागरूकता आई है, अपना हक लेकर रहेंगे। मौलाना तौकीर रजा कहते हैं कि मुसलमानों को मदरसा बोर्ड की जरूरत है। उन्होंने कहा कि केंद्र सरकार ने कुछ मुसलमानों (वहाबियों) को मदरसा बोर्ड के विरोध में खड़ा कर दिया है, लेकिन हम बोर्ड का गठन कराकर रहेंगे। उनकी मांगों को नजरअंदाज किया गया तो मुरादाबाद की सरजमीं की तर्ज पर दिल्ली की सरजमीन पर सुन्नी मुसलमानों का सैलाब बरपा होगा। मौलाना जफर मसूद किछौछवी ने कहा कि उलेमा व मशाइख बोर्ड सियासत से अलग रहकर सुन्नी मुसलमानों की समस्याओं का निराकरण कराएगा। हज कमेटी, उर्दू अकादमी जैसे पदों पर तादाद के हिसाब से हक मांगा जाएगा।
